The treatment for varicose veins nowadays is done by treating the inside of the vein so that the lining of the vein needs to be destroyed. At Southwest Veins we use foam sclerotherapy, so we inject foam into the veins and that foam destroys the lining of the veins.  Other options are that a laser beam can be used to destroy the lining of the vein or a cooking wire which heats up and thermally destroys the lining or a glue can be used to adhere to the sides of the vein together. All of these treatments are as effective as each other; we have found that the simplest method of treating the veins is to use foam sclerotherapy.
